Childhood Dream

Childhood Dream

Since I am absolutely not into cars  – the more I was surprised to find a dream of my childhood came true ironically at Rolls Royce at Kurfürstendamm / Berlin.

The ceiling in the car simulates a sky full of stars, how amazing ist this?

And the radiator mascot – the “Spirit of Ecstasy” which you can find on any Rolls Royce: my four-year-old just cheered because he was happy to have found tinkerbell from Peter Pan. Another childhood dream coming true ;)

Out of the Box

Out of the Box

Out of the Box

Sometimes it´s just overwhelming!

There are soooo many fantastic ideas out there – and the most inspiring ones, as I feel, are those which open up new vistas.

That is what`s always catching me – that unexpected twist of something I already believe to know.

An art exhibition is always a good place to make such jaw dropping experiences.

Just recently at the art fair „Positions“ in Berlin I found right next to all the interesting pictures and paintings these really fascinating wall objects.

Emile Zola

At first I didn´t realize what they were made of – I just liked the colours and the patterns and shapes, they reminded me of the cross section of a tree.

I was surprised and curiously took a closer look.

The artist Francois Duplessis has a deep passion for books – and the way he uses them, is really out of the box. For him the books are mainly material.

He uses old and precious ones with a colourful or golden cut, and by using high pressure he creates these interesting shapes. For many years he´s been working on his bookstories now, and he keeps reinventing them.

If Thoughts become Things

If Thoughts become Things

If Thoughts become Things

Have you ever experienced really strange coincidences, serendipities, or even so called „miracles“?

And do you „believe“ in phenomena, where there is no rational explanation for?

I do believe in such things and that they happen for a reason:

To help us and guide us and to open our minds for the amazing possibilites we are capable of.

I´d like to show you a beautiful example demonstrating this idea with ordinary water:

The japanese scientist Masaro Emoto, a Doctor of Alternative Medicine explored frozen water after it was exposed to different emotions.

Water from clear mountain springs and streams had beautifully formed crystalline structures, while the crystals of polluted or stagnant water were deformed and distorted.

Bespoken with the words „thank you“ , the frozen crystals had a similar shape to the crystals formed by water that had been exposed to Bach’s „Goldberg Variations“- music composed out of gratitude to the man it was named for.

You can see the pictures in this short video:

Having seen this, we can maybe start to be aware of the awesome power we possess, through choosing our thoughts and intentions, to heal ourselves and the earth.

Only as I did some research about Mr. Emoto, I found out, he had to face quite a lot of prejudices. He is often considered to be not a „real“ scientologist, and his work is lacking of proofs.

Maybe in our culture it is still a big step to allow yourself to think freely about such irrational things, without being judged as being esoteric and a bit craaaazy ;)

Hm!

I personally agree with one of the comments made on the Emoto -Video:

„Even if you are skeptical, the imagery is an important reminder that our thoughts, actions, and even emotions do have a measurable effect on people around us. I think it is beautiful.“

When Computers dream

When Computers dream

Have you ever heard of the deep dream? Google invented this software which works like an artificial neural network. It is now able to see and recognize patterns in images and interprets objects in them with its own datasets.

I instantly had the vision of lying supine ( meaning on my back;) in the green grass, staring at the skies – and discovering all kind of creatures in the clouds.

This relaxing moment where its possible to open the mind, play with thoughts, associate freely and allow yourself to think without any judgement –

Such a joy!

Funnily enough, in the pictures are always a lot of animals, especially dogs and puppies.

Here you can see the amazing effects on a beautiful carpet of textile artist John Allen:

You might consider Deep Dream as the hallucinogen or psychodelia of our time, or as just another funny app. Now maybe this development is still very much in the beginning and only gives an idea about what Computers might be able to perceive one day. Anyway – I think it´s extremely inspiring – and the best: you can generate your own deep dream pictures!

You can upload your pictures here for free if you follow this link:

And, of course I had to try it with a Cubelin as well :)

Hope you´re having fun with it :)
