CUBELIN at the Chrismas Charity of the Gallery Baeckerstrasse in Berlin Schöneberg. This event was organized by owner Alexander Urban and his lovely wife Marie Le Febvre. Lots of friends and costumers came to buy tickets for the tombola and more. More than hundreds guests made this event a big success. Besides the Cubelins I presented a collection of my new crocheted sculpture bags. Having sold the Cubelin „Flowers“ 10 % of the price is donated to the help of the Berlin refugees. Finally in total 1500 Euros were raised to support the Malteser egagement for refugees.

At first I noticed her individual look – black and elegant stylish. When I talked to Anita Keckeis I was charmed by her humour and positivity. She is an embroidery designer from Austria, living in Berlin and truly special! At the age of 12 she already knew what she wanted to become. Today she is living the life of her dreams and creates exclusive textile-jewels. Each of them awesome and special, too.

Every single scarf, collier and belt of her Label KEX is produced in a limited edition of no more than 98 items.

Here are some beautiful examples:

She has already received a lot of appreciation and sold her embroidery even at the Tate Modern in London. And I am totally sure – there is lot more to come!

Her creations attract self confident and modern women – and so is her message to us: Go girl, dare yourself and have fun!

Celebrate your individuality!

Prof. Laima Orzekauskiene is definitely a difficult name – but really worth remembering it! She is from Lithuania and I met her at the textile art exhibition in Berlin 2014. Her work was called: “Women in their Fifties” and I made some pictures as you can see down below. I adore her unique weaving technique with a variety of materials including gold thread and even human hair.
